Samsung debuts compact multi-function printer
Samsung has begun offering its new SCX-4720F multi-function printer. The $500 device acts as solid laser printer with a printing performance of 22 page-per-minutes and 1200 dpi resolution. The fax component consists of a 33.6 kbps modem to deliver a transmission speed of about three pages per minute. Auto-dial includes 40 one-touch and 200 speed-dial programmable numbers.
The SCX-4720F also offers a 22 copy per minute engine, according to Samsung. Key features include reduction and enlargement at rates of 25 percent to 400 percent and multiple copies up to 99 units.
It also incorporates several advanced features such as auto-fit copy which allows any size image to fill an entire page. Clone copy reproduces a single image multiple times onto one sheet. ID card copy enables users to copy the front and back of identification cards such as driver’s licenses and medical insurance cards onto the front of one document.
A scanning function complements the feature set of the SCX-4720F, which is currently shipping to retail outlets and etailers. (THG)
