Samsung: CRT isn't dead
Samsung, well known for its TFT displays, still believes in the future of CRT.
CRTs retain a serious cost advantage, especially for large-size screens. Further, even if 8-ms LCDs should soon make their appearance, CRT displays still have a strong advantage in terms of latency. Finally, the corporate market, traditionally more prudent where emerging technologies are concerned, will surely take their time in migrating to TFT since CRTs still have the edge as regards color rendering, and especially the quality of blacks... for the moment, at least.
