Samsung SDI expects slim CRT TV segment to double in size in Q2
Although Samsung SDI did not reach its sales target for its slim CRT TV line (Vixlim) in the first quarter of this year, shipments were still up 25% sequentially, which compares favorably to its overall CRT shipments, which were down 13% sequentially and 15% from the same period last year, according to data provided by the company at its April 20 investor conference. The company shipped 500,000 Vixlim TVs last quarter, up from 400,000 units in the fourth quarter of 2005, with the 21" segment showing the strongest growth.
