Samsung claims half of Rambus market

by - source: Tom's Hardware

The Korean Samsung Electronics says it controlled 53 per cent of the world's Rambus memory market by the end of 2000. The company claims that demand for Rambus DRAM, due to sales of Intel Corp.'s Pentium 4, is healthy. A spokesman also said that sales are projected to grow 117 percent this year to $3.7 billion.

In related news, Intel has confirmed an earlier report by The Register that 1.3GHz P4s are available to OEMs, beating the company's own roadmap to market by a month.
