Samsung catches eight million 128Mbit DDR order, OEM market outlook looking up
On June 12, leading South Korean DRAM manufacturer Samsung Electronics reportedly notified its Taiwan branch of the receipt of an order for eight million 128Mbit DDR die (16Mbit x 8) from an international OEM. Although the amount may not be consequential for Samsung, the action nevertheless represents the latest in a series of DRAM happenings indicating a shift in the OEM market outlook, from conservative to optimistic.
