Samsung and Hynix 128Mbit DRAM contract prices fall 16-20%
South Korean media report that after negotiations with PC customers, Samsung Electronics and Hynix Semiconductor have both lowered 128Mbit DRAM contract prices by about 16-20%. Samsung's prices are at US$3.60-3.70, down 16-17%, while Hynix's prices are at US$3.20-3.50, down 20%. Analysts indicate that 128Mbit DRAM prices are unlikely to return to US$4 before the US's typical PC demand boost in August.
