Just in time for Halloween, S3 has taken the wraps off its newest Monster: the Monster Sound MX400 audio accelerator.
The card promises to provide an advanced 3D positional audio solution, designed to appeal to hard-core gamers and audio enthusiasts. Featuring ESS Technology's Canyon3D processor, the Monster Sound MX400 is expected to be available in November for $99.
With 32 DirectSound hardware streams and quadraphonic HRTF-based "true" four-speaker playback, the Monster Sound MX400 will offer high fidelity playback of digital music and utilize Dolby Digital PC home theater features for enhanced audio in DVD movies.
