S3 developing goggle-free 3D
An OpenGL-based application running in full stereoscopic 3D without the need for special goggles could become a reality in the not-so-distant future.
The project - a joint effort by Germany's Dresden University of Technology and engineers from S3 - utilizes two S3 Diamond Fire GL1 graphics accelerators and Dresden's D4D 3D monitor, which displays images in stereoscopic 3D.
