S3 and Creative join forces
S3 Inc. and Creative Technology Ltd. announced their first strategic relationship, capped by Creative's introduction of its new 3D Blaster Savage4 card.
Based on S3's AGP 4X accelerator with S3 Texture Compression (S3TC), the 3D Blaster Savage4 offers support for PCI, AGP2X and AGP4X bus architectures, true 32-bit 3D rendering, a full 128-bit 3D graphics engine and two 3D rendering pipelines.
In addition, 3D Blaster Savage4 features 32MB of SDRAM, a 300MHz RAMDAC, and hardware-assisted DVD, all supported by Creative's own drivers and utilities.
