  Just in time for Macworld, taking place in San Francisco, Lacie announced several new products including the F800 RAID subsystem that allows video professionals to store up to two TByte of data.

  After Yahoo and Lycos announced to extend their emails storage offerings, it seemed just logical that Google would extend its Gmail service to a new dimension: Users reported yesterday, that Google in fact had increased their inbox sizes by a factor 1000 - to 1 TByte. Anybody who had hoped to get a free 1000 gig email inbox take a step back - Google says "it was just a bug".

  Almost six months since scientists at the Imperial College, U.K., claimed to have invented an optical storage device with a 1 TB capacity, six companies have come together to announce the development of a disk of a similar capacity.
• Sony announces 1 TByte DVR

  Sony announced its upcoming digital video recorder (DVR) "type X" at a press conference in Tokyo eralier this week. The DVR will offer seven TV tuners as well as 1 TByte storage capacity.
• LaCie prepares to ship 1 TByte harddrive

  LaCie has announced that it will sonn start shipping its "Bigger Disk", an external harddrive with a capacity of a whopping 1 TByte.
