    RSA has confirmed that it is in negotiations with other companies on a "potential strategic transaction". Earlier today, the New York Times reported that EMC, an enterprise storage company, and possibly one other company are interested in purchasing RSA for $1.8 billion.

    When Intel and Marvell Technologies agreed to the XScale sale, announced this morning, they agreed that Marvell would acquire the rights to produce cellular and handset products using technologies licensed from ARM Holdings. In exchange, Intel gets some quick cash and some debt relief. Sounds like a fair trade. So why didn't anyone see it coming?
