Blockbuster holds off on high-def, in-store rentals*

In a walk towards progress, Blockbuster announced today it would be making HD DVD titles available for online rental. The program will serve as a market sample, to determine whether a healthy market exists for high-definition video rentals from Blockbuster stores. Could Blockbuster's tentativeness to make high-def videos available through its retail outlets, be interpreted as a signal to the industry?
