    Could 10 - 20% yields for Cell processors lead to problems for Sony PS3? Comments made by an IBM engineering VP in last week's Electronic News have raised concerns about the Sony/Toshiba/IBM alliance's capability to produce Cell processors at the rate, and in the quantities, required by Sony for that company to meet its sales goals for PlayStation 3. IBM indicated that certain redundancies in Cell architecture can compensate for defects in production.

    AMD dual-core price drop must approach 51% to compete with Intel A mathematical analysis of price/performance for dual-core processors conducted by TG Daily , using the wealth of performance data supplied by Tom's Hardware Guide , shows that for AMD to make good on its promise to cut prices aggressively next week in order to regain price/performance leadership, the extent of its cuts must approach 51%. That may very well be what AMD plans.

Dr. Maressa Orzack, founder of the Computer Addiction Services program at McLean Hospital in Massachusetts, says the answer is "yes". And she believes that up to 40 percent of the 6 million plus players of the mega-popular MMORPG World of Warcraft are clinically addicted to the game.
