  In a speech in San Diego today, Microsoft senior vice president Bob Muglia is expected to reveal the new name of the Windows command shell formerly known as "Monad." Today, it becomes "PowerShell," its first release candidate becomes available, and its 1.0 release becomes slated for the fourth quarter. The move to revolutionize Windows, literally , is on.

  Pre CES 2007 coverage Toshiba today said that it will bring the first HD DVD writer drive for desktop PCs in volume next month. The new SD-H903A is also expected to make its way in consumer electronics devices such as family room HD DVD players.
