Sony Pictures aims for $35 retail for Blu-ray movies

Officially drawing a line in the sand for HD DVD to follow, Sony Pictures' president today stated, in an interview for Video Business Online , that his studios are ready to set wholesale prices for Blu-ray Disc-based movies. US Consumers may be able to purchase "first window" titles for $35.

Sun CEO shows first pictures of new 16-core Sparc processor

Jonathan Schwartz, chief executive officer of Sun, published the first pictures of Sun's upcoming Ultra Sparc processor, code-named "Rock". The new processor apparently is taking its first steps in initial tests and Schwartz claims that prototype chips "are running billions of instructions already."
Sony Pictures to make first Blu-ray movies available today

The first wave of Blu-ray Disc-based movies from Sony Pictures should already be available in retail outlets and Web sites today. Those few who were lucky enough to purchase Samsung's BD-P1000 Blu-ray Disc player in advance of its official launch this Sunday, will now have the opportunity to see whether their high-def pictures are as artifact-free as their medium-def.
