    The NPD research group says technology sales grew 11.8% for the week ending November 25 which includes the major Black Friday shopping day after Thanksgiving. Sales surpassed $2 billion dollars, but the group says the growth rate has slowed from previous years.

    Consumer technology retail sales which includes IT, imaging, audio, video, and consumables, from the week of Black Friday through the week ending December 23, 2006, grew 6.5% from the same time period in 2005 to $8.75 billion, a slowdown from the 10% increase seen last year, according to The NPD Group.
  • LCD TV shipments surge despite economic potholes :NPD

    A report by NPD analyst unit DisplaySearch published yesterday states worldwide shipments of LCD TVs rose during the usually less vigorous spring quarter of the year by an astonishing 28% over the first quarter, and 135% over Q2 2005. Perhaps more astonishing, high North American sales were to credit for the boost, up 48% over the prior year.
