V.92 modems with the new NetWaiting feature notify users with Call Waiting of incoming calls while remaining on the Internet, allowing them to place the Internet "on hold" for several minutes while taking the telephone call. Users can also place the modem "on hold" and make an outgoing call without losing their Internet connection.
