Tom's Interactive Mobile CPU Charts focus on popular mobile processors, which are used in laptops and notebooks because of their increased energy efficiency. We tested nine AMD and Intel processors tested across 15 different benchmarks using Windows XP. Core 2 Duo is the dominating processor in the notebook/laptop space and AMD's Turion 64 X2 has become a budget option. However, all of these dual core processors deliver sufficient performance for mainstream applications. The Price/Performance Index relates US$ costs to the overall performance.

Toshiba has announced a new line of desktop replacement laptops sporting Intel's Core 2 Duo processor and external TV tuners. The Satellite P105 series has a 17" display and weighs 7.1 pounds. Two models in the line, the P105-S6124 and S6134 will have USB external TV tuners and be loaded with Windows XP Media Center 2005. They will use the 1.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5200 along with 2 GB of DDR2 and either a 160 or 200 GB Serial-ATA hard drive.
