Cutting Your Cords - Without Wi-Fi
- Articles & reviews
Cutting Your Cords - Without Wi-Fi. cutting your cords uk. Let's face it: cables and power cords tie you down. No matter how small and sleek your device, plugging in the power cord and a connecting cable turns it into a brick that's tied to the wall and your PC. Wi-Fi isn't the answer for many gadgets, because it uses too much power and gets too complicated if you're dealing with a secure network....

LAN Party How To - Part 1: Planning and Power
- Articles & reviews
Since inexpensive outlet strips are sized for 15A and overloaded extension cords can heat up and catch fire, you'll want to use two extension cords and power strips per 20A circuit instead of a single cord and strip. Typically, you will want to run heavy-duty 12-16 gauge extension cords from the outlets on the table box down to the table location for the systems the circuit will power. I've found that single outlet cords intended for outdoor use are rugged, properly sized and work well. Plan on buying at least some 50 foot (or longer) extensions, since your power is feeding from one end of the table and you'll need about 36 feet of cord to reach the farthest table location. An overloaded cord can overheat and catch fire, so block those spare outlets!...

Gaming Mouse Review: The Fanatec Headshot Controller
- Articles & reviews
Included in the package are the mouse, mouse pad and USB hub, a 220V power socket for the AC adaptor, a few cords and a driver disc. It weighs approximately five ounces and comes with a finely coiled USB cord attached to it. There are two additional USB ports beyond the one you'll use to connect the Headshot Controller's cord. However, if you just want to use the Headshot Controller, all you need to do is plug the Aura mousepad's USB cable into your PC. The arch is design to hold the coiled mouse cord above the pad to remove any interference with the Headshot's movement....

Logitech G5

This is the cord version, with which Logitech is targeting hard-core gamers. Another uncompromising detail is that the cord itself is free of shape memory so as not to influence movement during play. The price of $70 (80 euros) is just as elitist for a corded mouse. ...

Sony NW-MS70D: iPod Killer or Expensive Paper Weight?
- Articles & reviews
Aside from the walkman itself and the included charging cradle, Sony has also bundled an AC adaptor, carry pouch, earphones, headphone extension cord, instruction manual, neck strap and version 1.5 of its SonicStage music management software (which we will be discussing in detail a little later on in the review) with the unit. While this is quite a generous bundle, it's important to note that, if you plan on keeping the NW-MS70D in a backpack or trouser pocket, the default headphone cord length will make this a near impossible task. Thankfully, however, the included headphone extension cord rectifies this issue nicely....
