  Cebit, the big daddy of all technology fairs, opened today in Hannover, Germany. In the coming weeks, several hundred thousand people are expected to push and shove through large booths and the tiny aisles of 26 exhibit halls.

  Foxconn is branching out more into motherboards and graphics cards markets by showing off several new models at the Cebit trade show in Hannover Germany. Foxconn is known for their component level products, but could see higher profit margins from more integrated solutions. The company is debuting several Windows Vista-compatible motherboards at the show.

  Sharp today announced two new Aquos LCD TV's that support a 1080p resolution and provide the functionality of a digital video recorder - thanks to a built-in 160 GB 2.5" hard drive.

  Panasonic rolled out its second-generation Blu-ray player at Cebit today. The new DMP-BD10A replaces the DMP-BD10 and improves the audio capabilities of its predecessor.
• Intel to launch Bearlake chipset at Cebit

  While Intel has remained quiet in public about a possible introduction of a refreshed Core 2 Duo platform, first motherboards that support the faster front side bus FSB1333, the upcoming 45 nm processor Penryn and provide the technology foundation for DDR3 memory have surfaced at the Cebit tradeshow.
