    Japan-based DRAM maker Elpida Memory plans to aggressively boost monthly wafer starts at its 12" Fab 1 to 15,000-16,000 wafers in the fourth quarter and to over 20,000 wafers in the first half of 2004, said company president Yukio Sakamoto at ground-breaking ceremony for partner Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation's (PSC) second 12" fab yesterday.
