  • RIM working on Blackberry emulator for Windows Mobile*

    Research in Motion is working on an emulator to make Windows Mobile based devices, such as the Palm Treo, work like a Blackberry. The software is due to become available in the Fall and will replace the Windows user interface with a more familiar Blackberry one, and then allow the device to sync up with Blackberry services such as email and calendars. The interesting thing about the emulator is that it will allow users to switch back and forth between "Blackberry" and "Windows" mode, thus giving the best of both worlds. The only issue with the emulator is that it is being written for Windows Mobile 6, so the majority of devices currently on the market will not be capable of availing of the Blackberry service.
