    Sub-$200 Nvidia Geforce 7900 GS-based graphics cards are expected to appear in the channel market from August 30, targeted to compete with the ATI Radeon X1650XT series, according to sources at Taiwan-based graphics card makers.

    Nvidia will launch upgraded versions of the GeForce 7900 GTX and GeForce 7900 GT graphics cards that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) between July and the middle of August, with the cards continuing to be manufactured by Flextronics, according to sources at Taiwan graphics card makers.

    Yes children, gather round. For today you will not be able to buy a GeForce 7900 on which to play newfangled games, let alone Windows Vista, and don't even think about trying to go retro - Mario has been discovered trying to blow up quiet, peaceful, innocent towns in the 1990's. It's a damn shame.

    Nvidia updated its graphics chip portfolio with the new mainstream chip 7900 GS, which will be available in graphic cards selling between $200 and $250. The 7950 GT will follow next week and aim for the hardcore PC gamer and a prices between $300 and $350. A handful of companies have already pledged availability of the GPUs in their latest graphics cards.

    Nvidia blitzes back with GeForce 7900, 7600 series, Quad-SLI, notebook SLI Not a company to be outdone, Nvidia charged forth today with an entourage of announcements for today's opening day at CeBIT. Leading the charge is the newer, smaller, top-of-the-line GeForce 7900 GTX desktop graphics card. But coming on strong is the news of notebook-level SLI, which may be a feature rival ATI won't be able to deliver for awhile to come.
