    The global market for TFT-LCD televisions, in terms of units shipped, is estimated to have grown 116% last year to 15.05 mln sets, Beijing research house Analysys International said.

    Strong sales pushed the total number of mobile phone past the 800 million mark. According to a report released by IDC, manufacturers saw their shipments increasing 19.3% from 707 million in 2004 to 826 million in 2005.

    Despite global DRAM output encountering a slight sequential drop in December, overall output enjoyed a 51.6% on-year growth to reach 680.5 million 256Mbit equivalent units in 2005.
  • Global notebook PC market grows 33.5% in 2005

    The global notebook market totaled 65.3 million units in 2005, up 33.5% from the 48.9 million units shipped in 2004, according to data compiled by IDC.
