Peeling Paint, Mold And Rust
A less aggressive demonstrator on hand sped up the in-game clock to give me a feel for the day/night cycle which will exist in the multiplayer portion as well as the single player. It was amazing to see the shadows from the piping and stairs above shift and lengthen before - POP! - I was brought low by the sniper's bullet again.

After I jumped back into the game I explored further and noticed the incredible texturing on all the walls' surfaces. Paint was peeling, mold was creeping and rust was doing its part to make the environment look appropriately decrepit. If you looked hard enough, you could occasionally see problems, but they were minor and very forgivable considering the multiplayer is still in beta. Another thing I learned later was that the demonstrated engine build was an older one, using the DirectX 8 instruction set.
