The 2005 RSA Convention, held at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, started off with rain-lots of it. Despite the surly weather, an estimated 13,000 computer security professionals attended, browsing the latest security gadgets and software. Computer security is big business, and while some people may consider the RSA convention too "corporate" and stuffy, we found many interesting things both on the exhibit floor, and above it too.

Let's take a look at some of the best equipment that RSA2005 had to offer.

Networking Equipment

Eli - Everything And The Kitchen Sink

Resembling an overgrown tin can, or perhaps a metallic microwave dinner box, the Eli broadband appliance from Electronic Lifestyle Integration has an incredible feature set that we definitely want to test sometime in the future. This box includes almost every networking function you could imagine:

Four port switch Wireless Access Point (WEP and WPA) USB Print Server USB network Firewall VPN (DES, 3DES, AES 256-bit) AV Filtering Spam filtering Content filtering VoIP port, so you can plug in an analog phone and make calls over the Internet.

You get all this for just $199, and for a $10 monthly fee you can add managed service, which automatically updates the security definitions on the box.
