Robin Hood: Defender of the Crown is one of Cinemaware's first strategy games for current-generation consoles. As a direct descendant of its illustrious predecessor written for the Amiga, Robin Hood offers a clever combination of different genres by using movie-set backgrounds offset by a strategic component of varied and diverse action-packed scenes - typical of Cinemaware's style.
Robin Hood is the hero of this new opus that ambitiously tries to combine respect for tradition (the original version of the game is a favorite with veteran gamers) with the latest gaming styles (this is Cinemaware's first game in 3D). So now, after a gap of more than ten years, one of the best game developers of the 1980s has designed a game for latest games consoles. But is the new Robin Hood a hackneyed old TV rerun or a true Hollywood-style mega production? What's the verdict on this resurrection of a classic Cinemaware game updated for 2003?

Fencing in 3D. The sword fights are one of the highlights of the game. Although the game is now produced in full 3D, the backdrop remains frozen in a single plane, so no sideways movements are possible.
