The Recording Industry Association of America, still in the process of fighting Napster, Scour, and other file-sharing services, is apparently increasing efforts against conventional pirates, playing a role in the investigation and arrest of several individuals accused of selling illegally copied music. It is also expanding enforcement efforts against those who use online auctions as a market for pirated music. In a related story, a pro-Napster hacker is bragging of having defaced scores of sites in an effort to support the file-sharing service.
