Renesas said to be planning suspension of MLC 8 Gbit NAND flash production
Japan-based Renesas Technology has informed its customers that it will suspend its multi level cell architecture (MLC) 8 Gbit AG-AND NAND flash production, though it will continue supplying 1 Gbit and 4 Gbit chips, according to sources at its customers.
Industry observers commented that Renesas’ market share in the high-density NAND flash market is limited and the move would not impact the NAND flash market much.
