Red Hat Linux 8.0 Released
Red Hat Version 8.0 of Linux is now available in an affordable Personal Edition package. The open-source software package retails for $39.95 US, and includes 30 days of Red Hat's Web-based technical support at no extra charge. Compared to Microsoft's full version of Windows XP Home Edition at $199. US, and Apple's Mac OS X10.2, this is a great deal for users who have considered trying Linux. The Red Hat 8.0 package includes a Mozilla Web browser, Evolution email, and Ximian's calendar program. Also available from Red Hat is a Professional Edition 8.0 that includes a CD of multimedia, word processing and productivity programs, as well as a second CD containing tools for system administrators. Professional Edition 8.0, retailing at $149.95 US, includes 60 days of free Web-based technical support.
