Red-M Integrates 802.11 and Bluetooth
If you're hoping to build a future-proof wireless network and you'd be willing to place money that the final solution will be either 802.11 or Bluetooth, Red-M's new Genos wireless technology may be just the ticket. The company says the products support both wireless technologies and will be showing off the system at the Bluetooth Developer's Conference in San Francisco from December 10th to 13th. Red-M says it will demonstrate a mixed, secure, 802.11 WLAN and Bluetooth network controlled by Genos, and accessed by a number of data and voice-enabled edge devices including laptops, cordless telephony profile (CTP) mobile phones, and PDAs. Genos features secure user authentication, access control, and session management to control a corporate network. The system is also said to be scalable enough to support future developments in wireless technology such as 802.11a or 802.11g.
