Rambus targets AMD, Transmeta?

According to the Electronic Buyers' News, a source close to the Rambus patent controversy says that the licensing company is shifting its attention from DRAM memory makers to the microprocessor companies that build double-data-rate SDRAM interfaces. According to a quoted sources, Rambus is negotiating licensing agreements with both Advanced Micro Devices and Transmeta, both supporters of the DDR SDRAM interface claimed in Rambus patents. AMD is slated to launch a high-end Athlon Thunderbird chip with a DDR interface and Transmeta's Crusoe supports both DDR and PC133 SDRAM.
