Rambus PCs set for Comdex coming out party
The promising yet controversial Rambus memory architecture will make its debut in desktop systems at the upcoming Comdex trade show.
Sources say several major PC makers - IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Micron and Dell - plan to unveil PCs containing high-speed Rambus memory chips at the mid-November event in Las Vegas.
The PCs will be based on Pentium III processors with Intel 820 chipsets. Prices will range from around $1,300 to $2,000.
