Rambus documents' importance questioned
As reported earlier, the Electronic News obtained court documents last Friday that were submitted by Rambus Inc. in its patent violation dispute with DRAM makers. Tech insider Jack Robertson says, however, that those documents do not provide the "smoking gun" that Rambus critics hoped to find, though many of do bolster the impression that Rambus concealed information from fellow members of the Joint Electron Device Engineering Council. Robertson believes that they are open to interpretation and may not provide the definitive proof needed to overturn the Rambus patents.
