Qualcomm files for emergency stay on ITC ban
New York (NY) - Qualcomm Inc. said on Monday it filed a request for an emergency stay of a U.S. International Trade Commission ban on the import of some phones containing Qualcomm chips.
The ITC said late on Thursday it had barred U.S. imports of new phones with Qualcomm chips the trade agency said infringed a Broadcom Corp. (BRCM.O : Quote, Profile, Research patent. The ban exempted phone models that had already been imported by June 7. Spokeswoman Emily Kilpatrick did not provide further details beyond saying Qualcomm had filed for the stay at the U.S. Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.
