Pulse Pushes High-Current, Low-Profile Miniature Chip Inductors

by - source: Tom's Hardware

Pulse just let us know about its new miniature radiofrequency (RF) chip inductor family that features a high inductance, high current rating and low DC resistance in a 0805 package size (20 X 12 mm). Released as a series of 10 individual part numbers, Pulse thinks their small footprint makes them suitable for a range of applications including general signal conditioning and RF filtering in personal computers and other consumer electronics. The Pulse chip inductors have wirewound ferrite core construction with tin/lead coated terminations for soldering. Inductances range from 1uH to 33uH, with corresponding minimum Qs ranging from 15 to 10. Standard tolerance is +/-10% and +/-5% across the line. Wirewound, ferrite core construction allows a minimum SRF of 17-63 MHz. Maximum DC resistance ranges from 1.20(OMEGA) to 10.7(OMEGA). Maximum rated DC current is 60-245mA. Surface-mount packaging is in 2,000-piece reels at 4 mm pitch, compatible with pick-and-place processes. Standard delivery is six weeks.
