PS3 firmware update fixes HDMI bug
Foster City (CA) - Sony has released version 1.81 of the Playstation 3 firmware, fixing an HDMI display issue that came up after the last update.
Version 1.80 went live a couple weeks ago, adding a significant slate of updates. One of them allowed users to switch between RGB Full and RGB Limited display. However, a glitch caused the RGB Full setting to inadvertently jump back to Limited. The new update fixes this problem.
It’s the first firmware update to be announced on the official Playstation blog, which went live earlier this week.
Eric Lempel, the director of the Playstation Network who blogged the firmware announcement, also said Sony is "continually evaluating and improving PS2 software compatibility."
