PS2 shortages continue

by - source: Tom's Hardware

According to analysts cited by a Bloomberg writer, Sony Corp.'s problems delivering PlayStation 2 consoles are not over. Apparently because of the company's inability to produce graphic chips in sufficient quantities, Sony cut US PS2 delivery projections to 500,000 units with 100,000 every week thereafter until year end, totaling 1.3 million units. Analysts say less than 700,000 units have shipped, though, 200,000 short of promised numbers. There are, reportedly, similar shortfalls of the systems in Europe where some users have reported dissatisfaction with the console's connector design.
