President Obama quickly established himself as the most tech-savvy of White House leaders yet with his insistence on keeping his BlackBerry and his use of internet video for addresses.

It seems that Obama’s fondness for technology also carries over to his international relations habits. According to the Telegraph, at their meeting today Buckingham Palace, the U.S. President gifted Queen Elizabeth an iPod loaded with video footage and photographs of her 2007 United States visit to Richmond, Jamestown and Williamsburg in Virginia.

The AP added that Obama also gave the Queen a rare songbook signed by composer Richard Rodgers. The Queen gave the supposedly “standard present for visiting dignitaries” -- a silver framed signed photograph of herself and the Duke of Edinburgh.

It’s unknown if the gifted iPod contained any appropriately themed music tracks, such as “Bohemian Rhapsody” or “Fat Bottomed Girls.”

Believe it or not, this might not be Queen Elizabeth’s first iPod. Reports say that she had purchased a 6 GB iPod Mini in 2005 at the suggestion of Prince Andrew. It is also unclear if that iPod held such classics as “Purple Rain” or “Little Red Corvette.”

Well, some might conclude that this is merely another form of media for him to manipulate; he got round the American people, and now he's doing the same to the British Queen. What next: dropping propaganda from a B-52, onto the unsuspecting, gullible masses? Or how about leading all the rats out of London with a pipe..apparently this Obama guy can do wonders. I know this is fact because I saw it on the TV..

Sorry to be so pessimistic, but I have grave reservations in putting my faith in either of the two individuals noted here, and I have concerns regarding President Obama's real view on 'open' technology. I think it will, in reality, be everything but..
