Watch the Portal 2 Trailer and Real Gameplay

She's back.

Gabe Newell shared Sony's stage at the PlayStation press conference yesterday that Portal 2 will be Valve's first in-house PlayStation 3 project and that it'll have the "best version of Portal 2 for console," basically already ruling the Xbox 360 version as sub-par.

The reason for this is that the openness of the PlayStation 3 has allowed Valve to integrated Portal 2 for PS3 with Steamworks, which means "auto updates, community features, downloadable content, and more."

Regardless of which platform you'll be playing it on, Portal 2 should be great. Check the new trailer and gameplay demo (from IGN) below.

Looks awesome but I'm still intrigued about the co-op

At a guess, each player has a portal gun, and ether one person has the blue portal and the other the yellow, or each player controls the exit portal of the other player. Or they have independent portal guns.

In Portal 2's co-operative mode, two players will control a modified turret gun and personality core, which were evolutions from original Westworld-styled bots.

I am actually disappointed. Valve went out of their way to make their Portal 2 event cancellation seem like a build-up to something big. What do we get?

"We're releasing Portal 2 for the failed console of this generation. And it's going to be better than the XBox 360 version though we're not saying how."

Seriously. Woulda been great if they announced Portal 2 as some sort of release compilation akin to the Orange Box, which would include Half-life 2: Episode 3 and whatever else they wanna release next year.

Serious, THAT would have been worth it, not an announcement that Valve is suddenly embracing that flop of a console called the PS3.
