Police officer under fire for anti-semitic YouTube clips
Columbus (OH) - The Columbus Division of Police in Ohio is investigating a series of YouTube videos posted by a city police officer that blame Jews for the country’s societal problems.
Columbus cop Susan Purtee has created numerous videos with another middle-aged woman. The two refer to themselves as "The Patriot Dames" and have made such comments as "Jews are the problem" and "When Hitler tried to get rid of them, no other country wanted them."
Because Purtee does not represent herself as a police officer on the video, there is no actual act of misconduct. However, it could definitely add more scrutiny to her and could be used against her in any future legal matter she may encounter.
"Every time you can establish that a police officer has a built in bias or prejudice, it gives you a leg up," said attorney Sam Shamansky in an interview with local news channel WBNS.
The Columbus Division of Police said the videos could damage Purtee’s credibility but that it would not take any action until its internal investigation is complete.
