PlayStation fever crashes Sony Web site
Sony was forced to shut down its Web site briefly after receiving over 100,000 hits just minutes after its PlayStation 2 console was made available for pre-order.
After the site reopened, the site still maintained 400,000 to 500,000 hits per minute.
The new version of the popular Playstation gaming console, which has sold over 70 million units in the past five years, will be available March 4.
