Tewksbury (MA) - Avid Technology today shed light on the latest version of its consumer video editing software, Pinnacle Studio 11. In addition to incorporating Windows Vista functionality, the new version adds a slate of high definition video editing tools not seen in any of its predecessors.
Pinnacle Studio 11 is the first installment to offer support for AVCHD video and HD DVD burning. There's also a new set of pre-installed video effects and transitions, and HD-specific editing tools.
In addition, the software now has a one-click web publishing feature that makes it easier to post videos to the Internet through Pinnacle's own StudioOnline.com.
The software will be available in three tiers: Studio, Studio Plus, and Studio Ultimate. HD functionality is not available on the basic Studio version.
The three versions will retail for around $50, $100, and $130, respectively, and are due out some time next month.
