Phoenix BaySwap hot-swaps notebook, desktop devices
Phoenix Technologies Ltd. has announced BaySwap, hot-swapping software that allows desktop or notebook computer users to instantly "swap" devices, such as a CD-ROM drive and a floppy, while the system is on.
Computers with BaySwap will recognize a new device insertion and removal, and automatically reconfigure the system.
In some configurations, notebook and desktop systems can even share devices.
