Philips Shows off Wireless Streaming Audio 0.95 Spec
Last week, at the Bluetooth Developers Conference Philips Components demonstrated what it says is the first implementation of the Audio Distribution Profile draft 0.95 specification, based on the Bluetooth 1.1 core specification. Philips' implementation was demonstrated between PCs and featured streaming audio-played from a normal audio CD-player and heard through a set of speakers via the Bluetooth link, using the mandatory SBC coding and decoding. Philips' demonstration follows the company's announcement last February that it was collaborating with Bang & Olufsen (B&O) to develop a Bluetooth module for wireless speaker products. Anything that helps me avoid running cables sounds like a pretty good idea to me.
