Peter Jennings (1938 - 2005)
When the leader of a great public enterprise falls, all of us who partake in that business to any substantive degree hang our heads just a bit. Last night, the longtime anchor and managing editor of ABC News, Peter Jennings, died peacefully, succumbing to his brief but terrible battle with lung cancer. He was 67.
