Pentagon funds power suits
In a future envisioned by Robert Heinlein, starship troopers are equipped with individual high-tech exoskeletons capable of flight as well as enormous strength, speed and firepower. The US Department of Defense has quietly begun to put research money into making that vision a reality.
The first major contractor is Millenium Jet Incorporated, charged with developing the SoloTrek Exoskeletor Flying Vehicle, an individual gasoline-powered helicopter capable of hovering for 3 hours and traveling at 130 kilometers an hour. Wind tunnel tests are underway at NASA's Ames Research Center.
