S-Video connector
Separate lines for brightness (Y, luminance with synchronization data) and colour (C, chrominance) via a 4-pin Hosiden connector. By separating luminance and colour signals, better image quality is delivered when compared to composite video (FBAS) connections. In the realm of analogue image signals, S-Video represents the best connection type for HDTV components. Only pure digital signals such as DVI (TDMS) or HDMI (TDMS) offer a better picture, and represent today's optimum choices.
