Payback Brings GTA-like Fun to the iPhone
Itching to do some discrete car jacking while at work or on the subway? If so, Apex Designs has brought their relatively popular top down old school Grand Theft Auto experience to the iPhone with their port of "Payback."
Previously available for the Gameboy Advance, Mac, Amiga, and GP2X, the iPhone version of Payback officially made its debut this week for the low low price of $6.99.
Still need more information? Well, according to the official developer website, "If you'd always wondered what it would be like to be a master criminal, then Payback is the game for you. It's entirely non-linear - to complete a level you simply have to obtain a certain number of points - how you get those points is entirely up to you." Hands on video of Payback in action can be seen at this YouTube clip.
Reviews of the previous platform versions have been relatively good over the years, and thus far positive comments have been made by the iPhone community about the application. Considering that it could be some time before Rockstar visits the iPhone platform, Payback seems to be the ultimate fix for GTA style mayhem for the time being.
