Panel makers press to make 42" LCD TVs mainstream
Although Taiwan-based panel makers will push for the 42" LCD TV panel segment to become the mainstream size, several Taiwan-based home appliance makers and key component makers remain conservative. Among the top four panel makers globally, three of them - AU Optronics (AUO), Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO) and LG.Philips LCD (LPL) - are betting on the 42" segment ; thus, it is very likely the segment will become the mainstream, according to the Taiwan-based panel makers.
